About the Presenters

Seiji Ito, MD, is an ACHD cardiologist at the Washington Adult Congenital Heart Program at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC. He completed the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Fellowship at University of Washington in Seattle after completing a pediatric cardiology fellowship and combined internal medicine and pediatrics residency. Dr. Ito enjoys working with adult congenital heart disease patients and their families and is invested in patient education and medical education.

Marguerite Wevers, RN, is a clinical program coordinator nurse for the Washington Adult Congenital Heart Program at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC. Prior to her role as a coordinator nurse, she worked in inpatient pediatrics, where she was able to work with patients with congenital heart defects as children when they were being treated in the hospital. Marguerite’s favorite part about working as an ACHD coordinator is getting to build relationships with patients over a long time and taking care of them throughout the different phases of their lives.

About the Adult Congenital Heart Association

The Adult Congenital Heart Association (ACHA) is a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life and extending the lives of adults with congenital heart disease (CHD). ACHA serves and supports the more than one million adults with CHD, their families and the medical community—working with them to address the unmet needs of the long-term survivors of congenital heart defects through education, outreach, advocacy, and promotion of ACHD research.
